What is "Top Bid" and How Does Bidding Work?

Modified on Tue, 21 Jul at 2:30 PM

Every county on Motivated Leads has a floor price of $300 per lead - that's the baseline price per lead for any investor receiving leads there.

When more than one investor is active in the same county, pricing becomes a factor in how leads get allocated. If you want priority in a specific county, you can raise your price above the $300 floor (you can increase in $25 increments). Being the top bidder in a county gives you priority there- but it's worth knowing this can reduce lead volume for other investors already active in that same county, since priority shifts toward the higher bid. Investors are notified if they become outbid in a county via email and a red "no" displaying under "Top Bid", resulting in a bidding war between investors.

To avoid bidding wars, we highly recommend aiming for the green "Yes" or yellow "Tie" under Top Bid.

Top Bid Key:

Green Yes= Priority (Only) Investor in that County

Yellow Tie= Round Robin Lead Distribution with the Total Investors in that County (Exclusivity is NOT affected.) You still are receiving leads in this county in a round robin distribution.

Red No= You are currently outbid and not receiving leads in this county. Another investor has increased their price per lead above yours. You should aim to reach a yellow tie.

Below is an example of what the different "Top Bid" statuses can look like:
